I am not a critic. I am a fiction writer, and a bookseller. It is not my job to point out the flaws in other writers’ work. It is my job to help draw attention to writers whose work I adore. I read lots of books that I don’t gush over on the internet. When I tell you, dear internet, that I love a book and think that you should buy it, it’s because that’s how I feel.
Why should a financial engineer be paid four times to 100 times more than a real engineer? A real engineer build bridges. A financial engineer build dreams. And, you know, when those dreams turn out to be nightmares, other people pay for it.

I’m in love with The Newsroom. Probably not as much as Girls, but HBO has come out with two quality shows this year. Both of which were renewed after the airings of their first or second episodes.
Acclaimed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is back in television after the success of The West Wing and the bomb of Sunset Strip and others shows.
Lastly, the cupcake exchange party of 9 August 2010. Where I first met Mpumi, Khayakazi and Lize.
On Women’s Day I went to the most legendary party of my life. No, I didn’t get drunk and kiss random strangers. I didn’t dance until my toes started cramping. I like to think that I live my life with a little more maturity and class. I waltz through Lize’s door with a tower of pink cupcakes, looking cute in my peach sundress and matching, and mandatory, lacey headband.
Another old post. The Marion on Nicol, I love you…Doing something a little different this year.
Champagne on entry. Beautiful ladies basking under the cool but relaxing Joburg sun. A perfect Saturday afternoon on a Spring day in Sandton’s Marion on Witkoppen.
Check at one of my old 2010 posts. This post scored me nine free cupcakes. Such a shame that they closed down
Aaah ilovecupcake. For so long I’ve been hearing the tales of the quality tastes and wild aromas of this shop. Finally, I got to experience the delicacies of the magic friends claimed that it performed.
